Prayer Ministry

Prayer is very important. It is the primary way we communicate with God. Prayer is also powerful! 1 John 5:14-15 says: “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us – whatever we ask – we know that we have what we asked of him.” Left to ourselves, and under our own power, there is very little we can do, and nothing we can do for the Kingdom of God. When we pray, all things are possible!

Corporate prayer
There is nothing more powerful when the congregation of a church prays in unison – one voice in agreement. That is one of the main things that occurs on Sunday mornings at our worship services. There is also a focus on having a personal prayer time where we can all pray about the things that are on each of our hearts and minds that we want to share with a loving and caring God.

Guest Card personal prayers
While attending our worship services, you will be directed to the Guest Card inserted in the church bulletin. On this card you will be able to record your prayer requests. They can be placed in the collection basket that is passed during the service, or in the collection boxes as you exit the worship center. There is a team of people who are faithful to pray for these prayer requests.

Emergency personal prayers
Our church is a praying church. When someone has an immediate prayer need – we respond. We pray. Anyone can send a prayer request to those who have signed up for the prayer email list by simply emailing a prayer request to: prayer@tcacc.net. Each prayer request is reviewed before being sent out.

Sunday morning prayer group
Every Sunday morning, from 8:45 – 9:15 am, you are invited to the prayer group that meets in the Prayer Room (located off the main church foyer next to the men’s bathroom). This group prays for the worship service that day, for the Adult Bible Fellowship classes, for various church ministries and their outreaches, for unbelievers in Austin, and for members of our congregation. All are welcome to join us for this special prayer time.

Prayer in various groups
Prayer is an essential part of our Adult Bible Fellowships, held Sundays at 9:30 am; our Life Groups – held at different days and times throughout the week; and at our Ladies Bible Study groups, also held on various days and times.

Prayers for Greater Austin (Unceasing Prayer)
The Church at Canyon Creek is part of the God-sized vision to reach Austin for Jesus Christ. And it is happening! As The Church at Canyon Creek prays for Austin the second Friday of each month, we are joining over 40 other churches who are also praying - on other days of the month - for God to change and permeate all areas this city. This prayer outreach is called "Unceasing Prayer for Austin." Would you consider being a part of this prayer ministry? All you have to do is be willing to pray the second Friday, and we will send you the prayer focus each month in advance. You can take as many time slots as you would like. If you want to be part of this prayer initiative, please contact Sherry Smith at sasmith515@gmail.com and she can add you to the prayer wall.

Neighborhood prayer-Walks with other churches
There is tremendous power when the churches of Austin join together and pray as one church. Churches are coming together throughout the city to form partnerships to own and go after the people in their geography for Christ.

The Far Northwest Church Partnership, a consortium of about 20 churches in this area (including The Church at Canyon Creek), prayer-walks neighborhoods in this quadrant of the Greater Austin area. Prayer walks have been scheduled through Feb. 2016. Click here to see a listing of the prayer walks, which occur the first Saturday of every month. Bring your family, a friend, a neighbor – whoever you want – to this prayer event. If you have not prayer-walked before, this is a great opportunity to get started. This is also a great way to mentor prayer-walking for your family. For more information contact Sherry Smith at: sasmith515@gmail.com
